Great report on the Very low wearing Honda 2.4L engine. Any makeup oil Al?

There might have been some. I'll guess maybe 1/2 quart based on past history. Not positive though Buster. And yes that would make the numbers worse. But still..........

The 2.4 is one of the best engines on the planet. Pick your favorite oil and keep it serviced and they will run silky smooth for ever.

You got that right. I was just looking at past UOA's with this engine. Remarkable. PP 5w-20 with 8k miles on it had a tbn of 3.3 with 1.5% fuel dilution.

With all these PP UOAs coming in fast & furious @ higher & higher intervals & with plenty of performance leftover, I might just might have to declare PP the best overall oil out there.

Geez Al - why are you here? Go get something that dirties the oil.

Well Pabs my 94 Toyota does that pretty well. I don't even bother with UOA's on it. When it dies it dies.

I'm really tempted to throw in 5W-20 oil in the next time. (Went with the SynPower 5w30 this time). Its the same engine as in the Acord but with 33 more ponies. That engine calls for 20wt. I suppose the extra potential of a higher load requires the 30 wt. But on the other hand it thins down to a 20 wt. anyhow and still does well.

I think I'll go for it.
