its a ford vulcan good for 250k more miles.
Haven't seen the hm version of the advanced syn , just the regular. You are referring to the 20k version right ?
Alright. I'm not loyal to a certain brand. Lately I'm just using Valvoline products due to availability and price.
First one I've owned. First Ford product at that. So far no complaints other than it could use a little more power at times.its a ford vulcan good for 250k more miles.
I haven't had any issues with the charging system.yes its underpowered and boring and charging system will give you a hard time.
A 10w30 would work fine in my climate.I doubt it. That was many years ago and 10-30 was a very popular wt. but it worked well for me then.
Tempting but I couldn't bring myself to run that long on a small sump capacity.Sh*t at this point run 20k OCI. It will outlast the rest of the car.
I take it these engines are easy on oil ? What would be a good mileage to do an uoa sample ?Lol you know you can do it. Sent it out speed and get it checked out. I bet it will be fine.
Turns out you were right. I had a second shop take a look and sure enough they are cracked. Those don't usually blow head gaskets. The heads crack instead. I recommend you at least get them crack tested.
M1 FS 0w40 FTWWhich version of Mobil 1 should I use ?
Unfortunately I'm having to junk the vehicle. However I do have a family member with a 98 with the same engine. May try the M1 on that one next service.M1 FS 0w40 FTW
My brother in law sold me a cheap 3.0 Ranger with one of these. It also had the muddy coolant. His had a miss that went away after I replaced plugs. I think he might have done head gaskets on it, not sureThe heads are surprisingly fine. The gasket was rotting out. The engine wasn't allowed to overheat. The cooling jackets in the heads and block looked like mud due to rust.
