What do you notice about cars on the road?

90's Ford vans and pickups- top of both front wheels lean inward, looks like they need front suspension work. Lincolns with air ride suspension sagging severely in the rear. Some Fords have squeaky front suspensions.

    Greatest sounds around.

A train horn off in the distance. 50's and 60's rock and roll music playing through hundreds of speakers at a drive-in theater, echoing throughout the lot. The organ at Wrigley Field. An Oldsmobile V8. I could distinguish the sound of an Olds V8 from other V8's at the age of 5. A field full...

Swapped out some P.S fluid the other day

I'm doing a turkey baster power steering fluid change on my 98 GMC. It looked like dirty motor oil. Yesterday, I got as much of it out as possible, and refilled it twice, before I ran out of fresh fluid. Each time, I ran the engine for a couple minutes, cranking the wheel back and forth. I did...

You break it, you buy it?

Man, is the bad press this shop getting over this worth the $20? They certainly would lose that customer forever. And most likely that customer's friends and relatives would boycott as well.

I currently have Seafoam and MMO. If I decide to go with MMO, how much should I add, and how long should it be left in?

Oil change mistake! Change or not?

Just keep track of the gas mileage, oil pressure, water temperature, and perceived "get up and go" to see if the 20w50 makes any difference compared to the recommended oil.

I'm looking for an engine flush/cleaner

I have a 1998 GMC Sierra with 5.7 V8. I was checking my oil last night and decided to look down the oil fill tube. I noticed it looks kind of sludgy inside the valve cover. I've only had the truck for 5 months. It has about 145,000 miles on it. I gave it an oil change right when I got it...

Can you still buy a car without Power Steering?

One thing about older cars with manual steering, they usually had huge steering wheels to give the driver extra leverage, making turning the wheel much easier. My '56 Olds 88 had manual steering. I wish it had power steering. It would have been much more pleasant to drive. Especially when I had...

    Supertech dino

I've used it in a few of my cars. Even way back when it was called Tech2000. No problems whatsoever. As long as you change the oil in a reasonable interval, it'll do just fine.

    champion spark plugs

I recently put a set of Champion Platinums in my 98 GMC Sierra 5.7 V8. So far, so good. I remember being advised to stay away from Champions in the past, but that was with carbureted cars. I think engines are a bit more tolerant of different plugs these days, because of the more precise delivery...

I need a good business idea

Self storage units. The outdoor kind. People pay you to let them use your facility, and if they stop paying you, you can auction off their stuff. Not a lot of upkeep, or supplies to buy once the building(s) are erected. You could also sell moving supplies and maybe rent trucks and dollies.

I found a loaded handgun in my front yard

AcuraTech, even if you don't want it, you should still keep in touch with the police about this. Maybe someone was going to break into your house, or a neighbor's house, or was fleeing from the police and decided to ditch the gun while running by. I'd be asking lots of questions, just to keep...
