Craftsman, Made in China - Return It?

I will only be using the tools a few times a year at most. The tools won't be doing any heavy duty work. Thanks for the advice.

Craftsman, Made in China - Return It?

I bought a Craftsman 88 piece tool set. It mostly has sockets, ratchets, a few deep sockets, and the little stuff like hex keys. $65 plus tax I bought it mainly for the lifetime warranty, but it's made in China and based on the general reading I've done, it seems like Craftsman quality is going...

    Extreme hot temp

Well thicker doesn't flow well. I would not use 20w-50. Maybe a monograde 30 is more to your liking?

I don't think IOM sells a list of oils that failed, but that would be VERY interesting.

Research Finds 16% of SM Oils are Flawed

Did not see anybody put this up. Recently we learned that some API certified oils were out of spec, but PQIA just scratched the surface. Referring to O'Reilly and Road-Tech oil Quote: "The O'Reilly brand did not fail Noack specifications in our testing, but it did test out of SAE J300...

No EDGE 0W20 in Canada for the foreseeable future

Too bad. 0W20 would be useful up there, but I guess they thought it wouldn't sell well.

    UOA GC 0w-30 GM 3800 L36

JMO- I'm looking at sodium, potassium, and silicon. Looks like you're getting a bit of dirt into your engine and that increased your lead. Were the first two samples Pennzoil Platinum?

UOA '03 MDX RL 5w-20 3k miles and gaining oil!

Google 'dyson analysis.' It's the first link. On the left side go to 'Service 'List', then choose 'Premium Kit.' Dyson Raw will only give you data, not the interpretation. In my opinion they are far better. You get what you pay for. Here is a Dyson UOA. The interpretation can't be shared so...

Did not know that, but it doesn't change the fact that you are guessing. Also, no need to change the oil hot. Your body is more important than your engine. Oil doesn't have to be hot, just warm enough. 10-15 minute drive is sufficient imo.

Quote: I'd rather consult my tarot cards. At least they are not a waste of money. A cleaning service will not fix a damaged or worn injector. He seems intent on doing a UOA and doesn't seem to have a problem with spending money. Dyson is widely recommended esp. if you got the money. OP: Make...

Your sample doesn't look like redline. Phosphorous is lower than 800 ppm, zinc is also low. 800 ppm of phosphorous is the limit for an API certified oil. Link to a recent VOA of redline 5w20. http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1802547 If you are sure you...
