I agree with the other posters here, but I would cherry pick the following models if possible: 00-01 Camry 05-08 Corolla I would recommend avoiding the first model year for a particular generation, so 97 Camry or 03 Corolla. Of course a exceptionally good deal may negate the associated risks...

Bill, My sentiments exactly. I was pondering an 06 Jetta TDI as it has the least amount of aftertreatment for a relatively late model diesel. Mid 40's MPG for an 03-08 Corolla is impressive. Are you doing anything specific to enhance the fuel economy? Or is it just technique?

Since its a cartridge instead of a canister, I beleive that most filters are very close in terms of construction. That is from the very quick research I did on the internet and on this site. I ended up buying some Wix filters from amazon.

ok, time to try this a different way: If I put one 1 KW of energy to heat oil A and 1.5 KW of energy to heat oil B, what do you you learn if I tell you oil B heats up faster? Not to discredit what your trying to do here, but you need more information to aid you in your analysis.

I think you need some more data to add to the plot before you draw conclusions; engine speed & wheel speed, engine torque, fuel flow, bsfc, and a bunch of others. Not to mention oil at the end of its drain interval will have different properties than at the start of a drain interval.
