Issue with the Tymate is it plugs into a cigarette lighter plug, i don't think he can see it as it's way down at the bottom of the dash.

I've got the same on my teardrop. Other than it can interfere with my truck TPMS (won't be an issue for OP's friend), the Tymate works...
