Before everyone jumps on the "weak add pack" bandwagon - Have you paid attention to the several other SN Mobil 1 VOA's recently??
They all show a lower than "expected" addpack - Either blackstone calibration is off, or Mobil's new formulation across the SN lineup (conventional thru M1) has...
Do both - I've very curious about the HM semi syn version...
Do the HM with TBN and I will kick in $10 for the VOA. Hopefully a few more volunteers do the same.
Email me @ Tensecondz@hotmail with paypal info etc.
For all the comments on how "hard" VQ35's are on oil, I've personally looked at 15 Used G35's with anywhere from 60-110k miles on them and ALL of them had spotless valve trains.
Random Coincidence? Maybe... or maybe they shear oil, but the water / oil cooler helps.
It's very easy to inspect...
Super HM is a BLEND - If you read the PDS is says the following
"Mobil Super High Mileage uses a combination of synthetic and conventional high quality base oils combined with modern performance additives to help provide long engine life and outstanding protection for vehicles with more than...
2 quarts of M1 75W90 in diff.
Pan drop, clean, complete flush with 12 quarts of M1 ATF (older multi-vehicle formula) 2005 G35 100K
Looked like original fluid so I did 2 partial drains over the past 2 months with SuperTech ATF+4 and added 6 ounces of Auto-RX prior to complete flush. Magnets...
The entire concept of "proprietary" is junk because any major competitor can test various samples and decompose the base oils etc with little effort... TominNJ did this back in the day on M1 and started a $hit storm.
Having said that.. I still think Mobil makes top shelf products at very good...

The prototype cars that run in the 24-Hours of Daytona could care less about CAFE standards, and most of them use Mobil 1 5W-30.

Johnny, I was in the pit of a Daytona Prototype and I saw a case of M1 15w50. Even took a picture of it! This team was running an ECR Chevy Engine...

Yes sir. When Mobil 1 first came to market is was a 5W-20. And don't...
Don't know how reliable this Blackstone report is.. many have been suspect in the recent past (look at recent Pennzoil HM) cSt is off by .6 according to Mobil specs

This is a topic I wish we would explore more at BITOG... I've been at this long enough to know when the "Myth" is NOT a "Myth"... there is definitely something to the synthetic oils leading to more "weepage" / leaks.
I am not buying the "it cleans out false seals", I've personally maintained...
Maybe for warranty purposes but Nissan has had this interval spec since SL oils at the very least. Cut out one interval a year and do every 4 months with any name brand DINO and even in the harshest operation conditions the engine will outlive the rest of the car.
As a side note, the VQ's may...
