I used a Baldwin on my wifes old Dodge Shadow with a 2.5l Turbo. The Baldwin seemed to keep the oil cleaner longer but the new Fram Tough Guards with the new synthetic filter media and screened bypass seem pretty good as well. I don't think you can go wrong with a quality name brand filter.

Thanks guys I'll be flushing the engine next weekend and giving the unit the once over. I'm going to be using Mobil 1 5W30 and a Baldwinn filter after everything is cleaned. I think I'll even try one of the new Amsoil blue cleanable synthetyic/cellulose paper air filters.

As soon as I finished sending the reply I new I screwed up. Hastings and Baldwin are one and Donaldson is not related to them. Sorry for the mix-up. I am going to try a Donaldson extended drain oil filter though. They look really good.

I run only Fleetguard or Baldwin filters in my truck and have noticed that Baldwin and Donaldson are made in the same building. All are excellent filter choices. Check out Baldwinfilters.com and they have an excellent cross reference guide with specs. and pictures of the filters. Very informative.
