did a search, nada. noticed my local evil empire no longer carries or has a shelf space for truck and suv labeled mobil 5w40. use it in all my vehicles(cars, trucks, bikes) and do not look forward to paying $6-$7 qt at my local auto retail

I was using rotella 5w40 in my bike and it was fine for the 1st 1k miles or so . After that , I noticed shifting got a little funky . I tried another oil change with rotella and the same thing happened . I just switched to m1 5w40 , hopefully it will do better .

My local costco is now stocking 5w40 , I buy it because I can use it in my motorbike as well .

Why not try the m1 or rotella 5w40 oil ? They're not energy conserving . I've had no negatives from running "diesel" oils in bikes.

Where do you add oil?

I 2nd using it to decarb,just do it in an open area,lots of smoke!

I have a 98 firebird with the ls1,approx. 90k.I recently did a decarb with some seafoam(gm top end cleaner works too)and no more noise at startup.I also followed up with a bottle of redline si1 in the tank.I wasn't trying to get rid of the noise, just doing a decarb as part of regular...

When I worked at bmw,we used fishing line,tie it between 2 pens or pencils.

2nd that.Buy the tb gaskets and remove it to clean it properly,buy the throttle body cleaner,spray and let soak.

Bmw and many other mfrs say lifetime for the trans fluid,which I do not believe in.I saw some wasted auto trans when I worked at bmw with way under 100k miles.The lifetime fluid is also major $ at bmw,like $200-300 for the fluid.All the mfrs seem to be jumping on the low maintenance...
