Hey guys. I just got a 2006 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 V8. I was curious to when you need to do the first oil change, since the motor is breakin in and brand new. I gonna use Pennzoil 10W-30 dino. I plan on a 5K OCI in the long run. But when do I need to dump this factory stuff? Thanks
Hey all. I have a 04 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 that I plan on keeping for a long, long time. I have been using Chevron Supreme 10W-30 for the past couple of oil changes and it makes the truck run smooth and good. But does Chevron hold up as good as big brand oils (Pennzoil, Castrol)? I do mostly...
I have a '05 Tahoe Z71. I just change mind with Pennzoil 10W-30 dino and an AC Delco oil filter every 5K. Runs like a champ. But I would use Pennzoil Platinum of those on your list.
My 2004 5.3 is in perfect working condition. They use an AC Delco oil filter. But, I drive mostly highway and I pull a boat ALOT in the spring and summer (3500 lbs bass boat). And in the winter to duck hunt (700 lbs). Thats about at heavy as it gets. So, its 5K still ok?
Yes, for the same price I can pick Chevron, Pennzoil, or Castrol.
I have always been told that Castrol was the stuff in dino oil. But I used to have mine changed at a Chevron sponered lube place, so I got Chevron a little cheaper and I used it due to the good reports it used to get on this forum.
Well, I have moved and had to find a new oil change place. The place I found has Chevron Supreme 10w-30 that I previously used. But they charge the same price to change my oil with Chevron as Pennzoil or Castrol. So, should I keep with Chevron or should I use Pennzoil or Castrol, which are...
Wondering if anyone has ever used Citgo Superguard Marine Plus oil. Bass Pro is gonna have it on sale for $5.99 a gallon (compared to $12.99)!!! I have always used Evidude/Johnson XD30 because I knew it exceeded TC-W3 requirements, and provided extra lubercation and detergency. But that Citgo...
