what two stroke oil are you using.

I'm going to take one more stab at this debate over oil mix ratios. But i'm going to compare it to the use of oil in our cars and trucks. I'm goin to do a little play on your words mtgrs737. Back in the bad old days they used to use 30w oil in our cars with no oil filter. Engins didn't last as...

what two stroke oil are you using.

I agree that it makes no technical sense. But I have to believe that Amsoil has tested their product on more than 1 type of 2 stroke engine and has found it to perform well in most "most" applications. Their web site has a recomendation table as which 2 stroke oil to use for which application...

what two stroke oil are you using.

Here is my $.02 on my reasons for using the lean mix ratio. I will always use a synethic oil in every thing I own. I once ran a test when I worked at Generac with syn oil vs conv oils. Same 100 hr service (full load on gerenator (6kw 16hp twin brigs)at about 600-700 hrs the gen on conv oil would...

I think the people that run higher ratios are the same people that don't believe in changing their oil every 3months or 3,000 miles. We all know that motor oil lasts longer than 3,000 miles. Why is it so hard to believe that a good 2 cycle oil can be run at higher ratios?

Amsoil 100:1 I usually run it at 80:1 with some sea foam in my mix. I use it in everything Lawn-Boy, Sthil, Homelite blower and weed wacker, and toro snow blower. Never had a problem. 1 qt lasts me about 2 years.

    Easiest Oil Filters to Change

The GM eco tech. No mess at all. Pull the cap, remove the filter element, install new element, screw the cap back on. I also like GM's S series 4x4 trucks with the remote oil filer. Very easy but a littel messy.

Amsoil Saber Professional and Mobil Racing 2T

I've used Amsoil 100:1 for the last 3 seasons maybe 4. I use it on all of my 2 cycle equipment. Lawn Boy lawn mower, Sthil cahin saw, blower, snow blower, trimmer. I usually mix at about 70-80:1 depending on how accurate I am in my measuring. I get a little bit of smoke out of everything when it...

    Hardest filter to Change????

I will say my 2000 chevy caviler with the 2.2 is the worst that I have ever had to change. But I never had to remove the wheel or jack it up. I can get at it from the top by sqeezing my arm inbetween the firwall and the engine. The best I have ever had was a chevy s10 pick up 4x4 with the...

OK to use 2 cycle oil in a four stroke?

I run amsoil 100:1 2 stroke oil for all my 2 stroke equipment. I use this same gas for my dethaching mower, roto-tiller, and pressure washer. I have evan added it to my atv in a pintch. I have never had any problems with any of the 4 stroke equipment or 2 stroke for that matter. I would think it...

who still use Push Reel Mowers?

My father in law bought one two years ago for his small patch of grass. Menards sells them new. I think you should be able to find them on the net.

Oil & Ratio for Ice Auger

I too run Amsoil 100:1 in all my 2 stroke equipment. I usually mix it at 80:1. No smoke, lots of power, and still have the cross hatch marks on the cylinder for my 5 year old leaf blower. 100:1 is some pretty good oil. What I really like about it is I can put it in my 4 stroke equipment in a pinch.

There is now a Pure One oil filter for the Ecotec 2.2L

I bought 6 filters for my 2.2 ecotech from filter1. Wix filters look good, I had an $8 fram to compare. They both looked to have equal quality. With the 6 filters I should be good for then next 3 years. I use Mobile 1 and I am going to change acording to the OLM.

    For all the Amsoil nonbelievers.

I think last year was the last for 2 stroke lawnboys'. What a shame! I've run all my 2 stroke products on 100:1 amsoil fo a few years now. They run great, easy starting, and very little smoke.
