Yeah, I expect the Amsoil to do well, you can see that the last time I ran Amsoil it produced the lowest wear numbers I've ever seen.

    Amsoil 5W30, ~5000, 2006 Subaru STI

I'm surprised to see things remain the same this UOA. Like Pablo, I would also suggest running a short OCI or two (perhaps on dino oil) followed up with another UOA and definitely swap out the K&N for a good paper filter. Tthe OEM filters work well, IMO the K&N should have been ditched after...

That's certainly a possibility as people have often seen elevated lead after a fuel treatment, but I would certainly hope that it did not contain lead as it would clog the catalysts. My guess so far is that the pinging/detonation during the trip driving over the mountains caused some bearing...

Yeah, this latest report is baffling. I hope something isn't letting go with the engine. The current fill has about 4k miles on it, so another 3-4 months before we get to 8k miles. Any idea what would cause elevated iron and lead when everything else seems ok?

    PP 5w-30, '07 Subaru Legacy 2.5. Boring.

The Legacy probably gets better mileage because it's pretty aerodynamic, I think the Cd is less somewhere around .28. The Forester on the other hand, is pretty much a brick. Good looking UOA. As the others suggest, I think the Si numbers will go down in time, too and the rest of the wear...

    2006 Subaru STI RedLine 5W30 3,200 Miles

The other guys are right: The UOAs I've seen also seem to have slightly elevated lead after running RedLine for the first time. But your Silicon reading seems to be very high as well which indicates an intake leak and dirt getting into the engine which could explain the high wear numbers in...

Oh, forgot to mention that living in San Diego I do most of my driving less than 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean so that could be a factor as well.

Hi Ed, I used Subaru coolant up to 60k when I changed the coolant myself (dealer service at 30k so I assume they used Subaru coolant). I'm not positive what brand coolant I used at 60k, but I think it was Peak Global LongLife... I'll have to check if I still have a bit of it left over.

    M1 5w30 8,369mi 2003 Subaru WRX 2.0t 72,785mi

Last changed the filter at 60,600 mi or about 12k mi ago, I haven't checked it recently, but the changes before that were at 49,300 and 30,200 all on an OEM filter. At 19,500 I did try the Amsoil foam filter, but swapped it out as I didn't want to hassle with cleaning/oiling and the OEM filter...

Using both Firefox and IE on Windows it uses a variable width font in the code section for me (I can post a screen capture if you want). If you look at my previous report (linked in the 1st post) the data there lines up nicely.

Break in was pretty much by the book, first 1000 miles was varying freeway speeds and loads but did my best to keep RPMs below 4000 as recommended by Subaru. Hit some good levels of boost and vacuum during that period as well while varying the load, but nothing too tough.
