    Chevy auto-stop feature?

Good grief! This discussion was properly placed in the "Automotive General Topic." It's not a discussion about the Cruze or Chevy but a discussion about the stop/start and if wear concern of the diesel motor is an issue with consideration that diesel has lubrication properties over gasoline.

    Chevy auto-stop feature?

Nice ... Thank you Skyactiv! CKN, no, I did not realize this but I still question engine longevity with this feature. I have no hard facts or data but I suspect these engines will experience premature wear, especially with city driving if stopped and started continuously without adequate...

    Microgreen - possibly stunning development!

Sorry, I somehow pasted the wrong link to the particle count using the old MG filters in comparison to a K&N: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2358618

    Chevy auto-stop feature?

Thanks all! And yes, I’m not sure it really is that much of a cost advantage of the diesel over the gas version but I do find the diesel version intriguing and with the epa of 52mpg, I’m betting I’ll get into the 60s. I always get better then the epa estimate. The interest is somewhat dampened...

    Chevy auto-stop feature?

I was thinking about buying a new Chevy Cruze with the diesel motor and manual transmission for the exceptionally high fuel mileage. If I get one, I have to do it now as they are dropping the manual after this year. However, I just learned this car incorporate an engine cutoff when the car comes...

    Microgreen - possibly stunning development!

Hmmm ... Haven't been here for awhile but was checking if there were any recent discussions on Microgreen's filters and found the discussions about change disturbing. I will have to have Blackstone perform another particle count and see if the filter is no longer holding out. I'm still driving...

Yes, search my post, I don't have a lot so they should be easy to find. I don't run the engine as hard as you but I still find it surprising how quickly your tbn's are tapping out in comparison to mine? Another aspect is the duratec is known to be easy on oils. Anyway, Amsoil is also a goood, I...

Ford Duratec 2.3L DOHC 5400 miles Redline 5w20

Interesting. I'm running 15,000 mile intervals with a 2.0L Duratec in my '09 Focus using the same oil. Blackstone analysis show I can extend the mileage with Redline even further.

I wouldn't be happy with the oil consumption but it is likely within the allowable Nissan specs. I would advise getting a TBN analysis as I'm sure you can double, if not triple your change interval. Doug

What is the best oil filter?

Si levels look pretty consistent and relatively low between the three analytical runs at 9, 13 and 17 ppm. The lowest value was with original air filter using the stock sized microgreen filter. The next was after replacement of the air filter and with the K&N oil filter. The last value was with...
