    Anyone ever split a tractor

I split my New Holland TC45 a few years ago. Not too bad. As you can see, I used an engine hoist to support the engine/front-half from the top and the wheels allowed me to roll it away from the back half. The back half was supported by a jack stand. I put in an aftermarket clutch and after...

How to buy a car on Facebook Marketplace

You can learn a lot about someone by the way they communicate with you on Marketplace. I've told many people to buzz off. I don't want to deal with rude, inconsiderate, and/or arrogant people. It probably takes me longer to sell some things as a result, but that's OK. I'm sure the seller...

    Septic Tank Service

Just had my tank pumped by the company I mentioned. $475 which included digging to find the cap. He said there were no issues. We've been in this house 3 months shy of 16 years (new home we had built).

Do you short-shift your manual transmission vehicle?

Fifth gear sees very little action in my TSX. The only time is when I've got her loaded down with people. Mainly, it's just my commuter, so it's fast and furious first through third, then quickly into fourth for the last few MPH of relaxed acceleration and then into sixth for cruising.

    Septic Tank Service

Our septic is 16ish years old this year. Never pumped it. Been thinking about doing it, so this thread is somewhat timely. A couple years ago I noticed that our drain field had a wet spot over top of one of the lines. I dumped some Roebic fix-in-a-bottle in the toilet, as directed by the label...

    Do you drink filtered water

I live in the shadow of Shenandoah National Park here in Virginia and this (https://www.google.com/maps/@38.663335,-78.3009813,3a,75y,328.35h,83.26t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sNmFKLFT_dtvK2WKcj-gmiw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu) used to be just that. I'm 41 and remember from when I was a kid seeing...

Should i take a federal job out of state?

I would not take that job. I'm a recovering federal employee. Been out for four years (after 11-1/2 as a fed). Stay with your family and figure out another option. Federal pay and benefits is just OK, IMO. The pension used to be really good (prior to 1980ish, I think). Even recently, the...

What are you working on today?

Picked up a cheap parts bike for my son's Cobra...but now I'm working to get it running to just keep as a backup/practice bike. Installed new rings and fired it up today. Runs great, but I need to do a few other things before he can throw his leg over it.

    The Double Big Mac....

We discovered Culvers a couple years ago while on vacation in Florida. I call it the burger-joint equivalent to ChickFilA. Clean, decent food, and good, friendly service. Definitely a step above the usual fast food suspects, IMO.

Aisin Honda water pump any good?

I replaced the OE pump on my TSX in July 2021 when it started to get a little noisy. I figure that was around 285k miles. I've since put 30k on the Aisin that I installed. We'll see...

    Post Your RV w/Tow Vehicle

Hey, @fantastic - I picked up a toy hauler today to go with the new truck. It's a 2019 KZ Sportsmen 270THLE. Should be a good little trailer for us. (y) 400 mile round trip to pick it up. Truck now has 700 miles on it and pulled the trailer home like a champ.
