    What's in my oil?

If no sweet exhaust dont worry. Had a similar concern with the H/G replacement on the I-6 300 I did after about a hour on constant driving all the milkshake went away.

    PB replacement

They don't, they mainly do on contract sells (ie: business accounts) via salesmen. I only deal with cause a friend of the family works there.

    PB replacement

This is not an ad. I personally no longer use PB Blaster, for have found something that by comparison makes it look like WD-40. To give an example I removed header-exhaust bolts with a this and only a std-size 15mm Wrench. I've forgot how much is runs but it anit exactly cheap, besides this...

Why is Auto-Rx So Darn Expensive?

While I'd say $20 with S/H anit bad, I'd also say not every engine need it. Personally I'd say only more high reving and hi compersion engine. I've take apart both a GM 3.8, a Ford 3.8, Ford I-6 300 and a Toyota Tacoma V-6. Of these the Toyota look the worst followed by the GM, then Ford 3.8 and...

LUCAS Transmission Additive and E4OD Torque Convertor Shudder...

Ok going to step on soap box here, My information comes directly form Jerry W. (the lead engineer on the 4R series trannies), have Ford Transmission Manauls and shop manauls. While yes there are mechanical differences they in no way are adversely affect by the difference between Mercon-III and...

Check Trans Fluid with Engine Running?

100k on the fluid yes you should be worried, way beyond time to change it. Schuduled intervals are 20-30k miles, with filter done every other flush. As has been said, the dipstick is calibrated for its check, but at operating temp, after being ran through gears is ideal. Reason being is this is...

LUCAS Transmission Additive and E4OD Torque Convertor Shudder...

98s use Merc-V for because they run a 4R__W transmission (either a 70 or 100, only difference is the gear ratio).

brake fluid really need to be changed?

Change it as often as other hydralic fluids are changed. Any heavy equipment opperaters here? Vaporiaztion can and will and does occur yet will not be a problem if system if bled proply every time the brakes are serviced (water being denser than brake fluid it will be one of the first fluids...

LUCAS Transmission Additive and E4OD Torque Convertor Shudder...

The issue you are describing sounds exactly like the T/C shudder Ford finally issued a TSB about. What it consists of just changing the fluid form Mecron-III to Mercon-V. This was not issued until the I believe 95 with the 4R70W's, but since the E4OD is the same transmission save a few sensor...

    "Sludge"

Ya the build up is only on the filler neck, cap and dip stick. Nothing on the head, so most likely just ignore it? Should I change the oil ahead of the 3k mark?

    "Sludge"

Only had the truck for 14yrs/ 216k miles. Oil has only been done the inital time. If pull the Valve cover off what exactly should I look for?
  13. B

    "Sludge"

Head was off for a total of 3 weeks, been on for about 1 week, (driving less than 100miles and been ran for around 1hr)

    "Sludge"

Coolant is clean, and no smoke out exhaust to speak of.

    "Sludge"

There seems to be this "sludge"/flim developin in the oil (least along the valve cover filler neck and now up the dipstick) that resembles lithium grease the yet more yellow. It is clearly oil in nature, I'm believe some sort of contaiminate. Have recently done a head job on the...
