    Synchromesh Manual Transmission Lubricants

Is this still the case? GM Synchromesh 'better' MTF than Pennzoil Synchromesh? Appears to be some confusion and discussion as to whether they are identical products. Thanks in advance.

Concerned about switching to M1 0w40

Another case in point to illustrate the differences between North American and European oil requirements: 2012 Buick Regal GS • dexos 1 • SAE 5W30 is the best viscosity grade for the vehicle. Do not use other viscosity grade oils such as SAE 10W30, 10W40, or 20W50. • If in an area of extreme...

    Fram orange fiber contamination...

Posted May 01 2003 by "dickwells"..."You are probably up on such things, but I thought I would mention anyway, that I have seen reports of the fine pink fibers detaching from a Fram filter and melting onto the MAF sensor, it acts like insulation or something. Beware." The MAF sensor elements...

    Fram orange fiber contamination...

Both 'dickwells' and 'digitaldrifter91' have mentioned concerns with the orange (Traid??) fibers from Fram air filters separating and contaminating mass air flow sensor wires. I'm looking for the articles, reports, etc., they are referring to...or (respectfully...!) is this another urban legend?

    Baldwin B2-HPG ADBV

TC Thanks for the response...I was thinking, like you, that the oil pressure would overcome any resistance. But, in retrospect, there was a noticeable delay on pressure build-up compared to the FL-1A I just installed this past weekend. Both Baldwins only had 3-4k miles on them when changed. If...

    Baldwin B2-HPG ADBV

Could very stiff ADBV's on Baldwin B2-HPG's I've been using cause a restriction to oil flow on start up?? I tried pushing the black rubber valve in /down with a screw driver this past weekend...extremely stiff. Tried others (Motorcraft, K&N, Wix) and found them very pliable and moved in / down...

Did the 'freezer test' over night (outside @ -32C / -24F) with 4 different oils. In order of most fluid to thickest: Castrol GC 0W30 Mobil 1 5W30 Pennzoil 5W30 (dyno...) Petro Canada Duron 5W40 (synthetic) Disappointed with the 5W40 Duron...thought it would be a little more viscous at those...

    Oil For Firemen

Hey, "The Fire Guy"... As advised above, and from experience, use the best synthetic you can get / afford (GC 0W30, M1 0W30 / 5W30, etc). Use your block heater, and invest in a remote car starter...start your vehicle while you're pulling your coveralls on! Stay safe, Fire Fighter! Rod Retired...
