I'm running a bypass filter so fine filtration on a full flow doesn't interest me. I'm more concerned with a QUALITY filter that flows a lot of volume.

The filter is for a 5.9 HO Cummins Turbo Diesel. TIA.

The WIX for the 5.9 is rated @ 12-16 gpm ..as are most for that engine, or so I would reason. You can go to a XE

But ..as long as you're not peaked in pressure ..they all look the same to the flow

You've got to rationalize flow potential. It's all a matter of if you're in relief or not. If you are ..then the filter can add some resistance ..and therefore reduce flow. If you're not ..then it doesn't matter what filter you use. 10gpm is 10gpm whether it's through a capillary or the main artery. The oil just moves faster through the pores. The engine is the biggest resistance to oil flow that your pump will ever see.

According to the Grease study. The best flowing medias were K&N, Purolator, Donaldson, and I think Hastings.
