A very high TBN from the start. It could be good for extended OCI's above 10,000mi.

What do you guys think?

The last few RP reports I've seen show very high TBN. This also looks like a true SM formula.

On the bottle it shows it's an SL oil.

I have never seen a single bottle of Royal Purple that was API SM approved, and I always look at the backs of oil bottles when passing through stores.

Well, if this VOA is any indication, the bottles are wrong. It's SM. Look at P/Zn.

RP 5w40 is their only API SM oil.

According to both the RP site and the API license directory, that is still true. This 5w20 is SL.

Easily. Here is my UOAusing RP 5w20 and 7500 mile OCI. It is a very robust 5w20.
