This OCI was only 2 1/2 months long. I took two long road trips to California and Montana. It sheared from 12.1 to 10.67. This DI engine sheared Redline 5W-40 from 15.0 down to 12.87 and 13.25 also. So I'm happy about the Pentospeed viscosity. I now have Mobil 1 0W-40 in the engine.

Finkle,

I wonder how RL 10w40 or 15w40, M1 15w50, Amsoil AMO 10w40 would do for shear-stability in your motor?

I didn't want to spend the extra $10 bucks on the TBN since the run was only 5K. After the Mobil 1 0W-40 run. I think I will stick to a 30 weight in this engine. The car feels like more sluggish with a 40 weight in the crankcase.

Hm. Redline 5w30 perhaps?

I'm betting RL is gonna have a higher HTHS and more additives. Maybe more shear-stable too.
