demar, I was lucky to find (er..my wife found, then called me if I wanted them) PZ 5w-20 HM at WM some months ago for $2.00/qt as a close out. Snagged a dozen of them.
Thanks. The engine on my '08 4.7 is louder than I'd like, and I think this is because the [censored] CAFE-dictated 5w20 spec oil. I'd be running Delo 15w40 if it weren't for the lifetime powertrain warranty.

I am sure you could run a high quality 5W-30 and still be in compliance for your warranty. Maybe even a 10W-30.
I think even a 15w40 HDEO would be okay in Central CA (25deg F - 110 deg f), but it specifically states in the warranty booklet than any "unauthorized" fluids would void the LPT warranty and the owners' manual states that I can ONLY use 5w20 that conforms to MS-6395 (for US market).
Dont want to give them any reason to void the warranty in a truck that sees 40k+ miles per year.
Red Line 5W-20 is 9.1 at 100 C and has a HTHS that is greater than many 30 grade oils at 150 C. I used it with good oil analysis results in the Lambo and Maybach 57s. But now I use Renewable Lubricants Incorporated 0W-20 instead. I use 0W-30 RLI in the Enzo now as well. This engine calls for the Shell 10W-60 Helix Ultra Racing oil. I do not however race the cars.
