Ok so in preparation for boost i rebuilt my motor with Scat rods and JE 8.5:1 pistons, new rod and main bearings, rings and all. I broke the motor in on Castrol GTX 10w30, changed it at 600+/- miles and now have ran another 1000miles(ready for next oil change) i checked it today and recorded ZERO oil consumption and the vac gauge holds a steady 20-21inHG and on decel its 24-22inHG. Now my main question is when should/can i change back to synthetic? I previously ran Castrol Syn 5w40 will that suffice for oil now that i will be throwing more power and a turbo in the mix?

also should i go to a thicker hot weight like a 5w-50 since i'm adding a blistering turbo for the oil to go thru?
How about a good Synthetic 0W-30, 0W-40, or 5W-40?
