Motorcycle guys, I am thinking of doing virgin oil sample tests on motor cycle oils. Was wanting some feedback on if I should focus on 10W-40 oils or 20W-50 oils. It would also include mineral and synthetic oils of the same viscosity. Thanks for any feedback. mikeyoilnutt

I'd have to say the 10W40's because they are more in line with what I need.

My vote is for the 10w-40s. I would love to see a VOA for Torco's synthetic T-4SR. It is a bit pricey, though. Thanks in advance for any that you do.

Go for both, and add the HDEO 15W-40s such as Rotella, Delvac, and Delo (may already be done, haven't checked). Include the "oddball" 15W-50 (I'm betting M1 here?) too. Sport Rider did an oil "test" last year I believe but seemed to have some inconsistancies. I've got a whole list of bike oils I'd like to see tested. Let me know if you would like some help with samples, cost, etc.

For UOA, I could contribute Motul 3000 10W-40 after the bike is good and broken in.
