I see several remarks that some grease products are not compatible with some others. How does one know which with which, or which NOT with which?

What happens if incompatible products are used?

I may be guilty, but so far, so good; never a problem (knock on wood). I use what I have. I have used and "inter-contaminated" Valvoline products, Lucas, Mobil (worse I have ever used as it turns to liquid in storage), Green Stuff, and others.

The different Soaps [that is what the thickeners are called] are what may make the greases incompatible.
