Didn't intend to go 11,300 miles. Just ended up that way this time around. OEM interval is 10k miles. I'm satisfied with this oil and report. No reason to change for me.

Sorry I left that out by accident. 9,560 with 12 months in service.

This OCI probably 60/40 city/highway at most. Previous OCI would probably have been 70/30 at most. The 0w40 had a 2000 mile trip to Texas and back.

Thanks. Was looking at 3.2s then this 4.2 popped up. As you can imagine mileage in town isn't real good get about 15 mpg but on the highway can get as much as 26 mpg almost 27 at express way speeds.

It has a nice grin factor when you put your foot in it.

Well, in that case even the lowly Edge 5w-40 that people put down so much did pretty well, IMO. It did thin out a bit more than the 0w-40 though. Planning to go 1 year on it in wife's Q5 as well.

TBN is still above 3.0 after 11k miles indicates Castrol 0W40 can be used for 15k miles(or a little more) easily. I would stay with 1 year OCI, for it easier to remember.

I do 1 year OCI for all my cars, couple weeks before yearly renew registration.

I go by the Service reminder as it's set to 10k miles. For the A6 that's so far been about 10K miles in a year.

Highway is where they shine. Of all the Germans I have driven I liked the Audis best for highway use. The ride was always good but never felt quite "right" until over 80MPH. One of the turbos got 31 mpg at a steady 85 (steady speeds that high are never truly steady but actually averaging 75 over 600 miles on a single 21 gal tank)although it might have been lean enough to worry about the piston tops.

I'm afraid you have given me the itch again.

Don't blame me for the Itch. ;-)

Yeah they love the road. What amazes me is they are as composed at 80+ mph as other cars are at 55 mph or less. I LOVED the Texas roads on our trip. Roads here in GA that are 55, and you get 10 over here, are 65 and IIRC 75 in some places. I let the A6 4.2 eat. Was truly let down when we hit the Louisiana state line on the way home.

My mother just got a 2015 E350 sport package. What a 80 year old grey hair needs a sports package for I don't know. It will NEVER go over 65mph and she complains she can fell the road. Told her if she wanted to drive a car where you don't feel the road then she should have bought a Buick. LOL..... Nice car but I wouldn't trade the 07 A6 for it.

Never driven a BMW so I don't have clue what the cars are like but they do make really good motorcycles. ;-)

Oh yeah I know for a FACT the A6 4.2 is electronically limited to 130mph here in the US. It was still pulling in 5th gear when the limited kicked in and shifted it into 6th gear and limited the rpm to 4000. It's got a lot more in it.
