Are the any bearing drivers out there that have a raised shoulder to transmit the force to the outer race to prevent damage to the bearing? Or have you found it does not matter? I need to replace the bearing in a accessory drive belt pulley, like most accessory bearing is interference fit to the outside race and the pulley. I think it's common knowledge and also info from the bearing mfr, you don't want hammer on the free inside race and transmit the force to the bearings and deform them. But if you use the parts store bearing drivers with the flat face, at least half the force will go to the inside race and bearing. In the past I used my sockets to do this, but I rather not beat on them if possible.
