Wix 51040 cut open

Filter came off of our 04 Impala. Was on the car for 7000 miles.

I don't like those wavy pleats; that's gotta be a first for Wix.

yeah... Wix is a great filter but i dont like those wavy media pictures.

ok, Now duct tape that oil filter back together and get another few thousand miles out of it!

Yes it was at least a few months. Ill have to look when I did it. It just came off a few weeks ago.

I haven't heard of that before but its a possibility. My wife likes to warm the car up in the morning when she takes our 2 year old to daycare in the morning.

I cant remember who mentioned this to me when I posted a picture of a wavy low-mileage FL-400s. Colder temps equals longer warm up times.. and a longer exposure to moisture in the oil.

Nothing wrong with that filter, looks good.

I just returned some PureOne filters to K-Mart and used the money to purchase some Wix filter for all my rides.
