The vinyl fabric was separating from its backing on my 1991 Chevrolet K1500. The fabric was in good shape and there had been attempts by the previous owner to staple it in place. I figured on getting around to repairing it one day. Today, it started coming down. It looked like it would be difficult to get it glued back on with spray glue without wrinkles. All of the plastic retaining push puns had broken as well. It looked like it was being held in place by the visors and the dome light.

Rather than replace the fabric, I used a wire brush to remove what little residual foam was on the fiber/cardboard backing. Using two cans of Rustoleum rubber coating (similar to Flex Seal), I coated the fiber board with a gray coating to match the rest of the interior. The only push pins I could find were black so I sprayed the tops of those too so they would blend in. It came out extraordinarily well I think!
