Hello all,

Lets say a person has their 90 HP merc 2 stroke 1/2 full of the Supertech stuff then tops it off with AMSOIL full synthetic. There shouldn't be any problems right? Also, I've read that some people dont like full synthetic 2 stroke, what about a AMSOIL and Supertech blend if the above is ok?

Thank you

Ideally you would use the supertech up then fill with amsoil.

But it is perfectly fine as long as you are using the TCW3 amsoil HP Marine . Or the cheaper general injector oil also TCW3 (they are both blue colored and smell like heaven)
and not the yellow air cooled oil which is API-TC

I've had trouble with mixing 2-stroke oils before, mostly conventional and synthetic and having the oil either clot up or separate from the fuel in the tank. The biggest issues were with castor based oil and some synthetics which is probably not a concern with TCW3 oils.

Full synthetic oils are great, some people don't like them because of a few bad ones about 20 years ago and some unfounded myths that were spread about them not lubricating as well or sticking in the bearings as well. Modern synthetics are superior in just about every way and they burn much cleaner.
