Replace cruise control switch on steering wheel.

CC switch on steering wheel intermittently fails to respond to pressed button inputs.
2007 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 l, manual, 74K miles.
I tried the usual sources.
If you are still reading, the brake-light switch has been replaced three times.
Some clear advice on how to safely remove the steering wheel air bag would be greatly appreciated.

Are you the original owner? If not did you splurge for warranty plan 6b? If either of these apply, take to dealer. It should still be warrantied.

I'm pretty sure that was the plan # I bought with my 2000 sonata( summer 2001, 16k mi), that basically bumped almost everything to 10yr/100,000mi. It even paid for front CV joints summer 2009, with 99,990 mi on the odo.
