Not only time that we use in US is different with the rest of the world, filling full name in some official forms(federal, state and local) can easily making error without reading the instruction carefully. Some forms have last name first, first name second and middle name last, some forms have first name first, middle initial second and last name last.
The order should be family name(last name) first, middle name(s) second and first name last.
