Thanks for this. I've wondered what the % is since Pennzoil Gold had listed 'at least 50%'.
 
the cheap Smittys at Kmart is 10% PAO according to other posts on here.

Pennzoil Gold is at least 50% (most likely group III)

MC is said to be 60% GIII

The dinos are most likely blends, too, since the modern oil standards have become so stringent. They're just not always marketed as such. That's why Smittys says synthetic blend and, for example, PYB doesn't.

The majors don't want to steal sales from the higher priced products (Smittys and the other cheap brands don't have that problem), and some people are afraid of the word synthetic.

Notice how some full syn sale prices aren't much more than the same-brand dinos.

Yes at least in the US marker there is a lot of confusion. 100% Group III = Full Synthetic motor oil? 100% Group IV = Full Synthetic motor oil?
