Still, I was in Bosnia when A-10 was targeting Serb tanks. They were very careful not to go too low since Serb's had very capable air defense units with IR missiles. For that, F-15E is the key.
I was watching from our side how they were targeting tanks, and we could see that for A-10 big problem was lack of power to get out.

How many papier mache and inflatable rubber tanks did we end up destroying anyway?

I think the F-35 pushers in the AF actually hate America and they hate our freedom.
 
The 122nd is about 5 miles from my house. Hopefully they all come home safe. Earlier in my career at GE aircraft engines I worked on the TF-34 analog engine control. It's not full authority and just a temperature control. The pilots I have spoken to were wishing for a bit more thrust, but at this point, I don't think any engine upgrades are going to happen. An upgrade to the CF-34-8C would get them about 4000 pounds per engine and a FADEC.
