2200 in my Duramax/Allison in 5th gear, About 1800 in 6th gear.

I cruise at around 65 2000rpm in 5th gives the best MPG

That is similar to my Silverado 5.3L with 6 spd auto and 3.42 rear. I like to stay in 5th most of the time and pickup seems to get the best balance of mpg and performance right in the 1900-2100 RPM range. I hardly ever get to the freeways so the pickup really stays at 65 or less most of the time.

2000 Jetta 2.0l with 5 speed manual is 3,500 RPM at 70mph in 5th. My foot is only stepping 1/4 on the accelerator. Car will still climb hills like it is flat. It likes to run at this RPM.

I can't remember what the Firebird is spinning at 70mph. I know it isn't nearly as high as the Acura. Probably around 2k. I'll follow-up with a correction if I'm way off. Also a 4-speed auto. 3.8L V6, 200hp.

I was close. The Firebird is at about 1900 rpms at 70.

@ 80mph ... 3050RPMs

Sorry 'bout that...
