I recently changed the Racor filter I have installed on my CVLX's transmission. I think the old one only had 15k miles on it, about half of the recommended FCI. But, it didnt have a filter besides the factory pan filter prior and I haven't changed any fluid since about 30k miles.
Its installed in the cooler lines after the cooler before going back to the trans.
No, this isnt the best spot. When I pulled the old one off, it poured all over my lower control arm.
To the filter.
Wire reinforced synthetic media.
I measured it at about 2 7/8" x 72" though the length is a little low due to the folds, but thats still 207 sq in of media. I must have smudged the lens on my phone, also.
Something I didnt know about it before was it had two separate layers. The secondary layer was pretty clean and nearly see-through.
The top layer had a really fine sparkle to it. No big chunks of anything, though.
