I've had good results using Quaker State Green Bottle in my Kia's.

It really does seem to quiet their sometimes noisy engines.

As long as it is in warranty period you should DEFINITELY go by what the owner's manual says.

The brand of oil doesn't matter, but the specifications DO.

Actually, the manual calls out anything in the 5W-20 to 10W-30 range.

I have a 2010,its had Valvoline Synpower or syn-blend 5-20 since new. It now carries Maxlife 5-20. It has 70000 miles now. Purrs like a kitten.

According to the owners manual on page 393... You need an API SM or better of between 5w20 or 5w30 depending on climate. I would use the 5w20 since its spec'd for it and you can choose any name brand you like.

Popular conventional choices are Pennzoil Yellow bottle, Mobil 5k, or Quaker State green bottle.

If you want a synthetic you could try Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum or Quaker state ultimate durability.

If you want a online copy of your manual i found it free here.

Also i would recommend the OEM filter since you won't be able to take advantage of extended drains while you are in warranty. It specifies an oil change every 3,750 miles or 6 months.

If you drive a lot of highway miles it states normal intervals are 7,500 miles or 12 months.
