Any chemists out there that can explain the difference between the short chain (C10-C13) and medium chain (C14-C21) and the long chain (C22-C26) Chlorinated Paraffins.

Is the longer, highly saturated variety (C22-C26)more stable and less volital, and less likely to be corrosive to bearings, unlike the shorter chain Chlorines?

The longer the chain, the less volitile. They should also be slightly less reactive. As far as I know, they should all be highly saturated.

Frankly I am a big fan of straight chain alkanes where you are looking for chemical stablity. Unfortunately their VI sucks.
