Amsoil Ea42 oil filter

This is my time cutting apart a filter with a filter cutter (works like a charm). The filter is the Amsoil Ea42 filter, and about 7600 miles for this OCI. The engine is a reman with little mileage. What impressed me what the heftyness and weight of the base plate. Weighs more than most filters (the whole filter). Only the "man of steel" (Superman) could bend this base plate.

How do married guys justify a $50 filter cutter to their wife?

1st mistake: You told her!

Just tell her you need to see the inside of the filter to monitor the health of the engine, which is true.

Filter looks good for 7500 miles.
