That sounds about right to me. I first started using M1 oil filters back in 1998 when I first got my 98 Firebird Formula. I always grabbed a couple of them whenever I travelled to the US, as they weren't sold up here then. They were definitely white filters. I switched over to the AC Delco Ultraguard around late 1999 to early 2000, and at that time the Mobil 1 filters still weren't labelled as Extended Performance just yet.
