I have a Westinghouse wall oven, model OK21HXO.

I need a replacement Temperature control, P/N 530016222.

The control has a date of 06-30-77 on it, so it is about 5 years newer then the house itself.

I have searched all over the Internet to find this P/N and it just isn't available anywhere as far as I can tell.

This wall oven is an odd ball size and not easily replaceable, and I can't afford to remodel one side of the kitchen to replace it.

I'm hoping someone here can help me either locate a part, or a similar size oven.

The model # indicates that it is a 21" model, I don't think I have ever seen anyone advertise an oven that size. Like I said, an odd ball unit.

TIA

Oldmoparguy,

I contacted my local "old school" appliance parts company and he said that your part number is missing one digit at the end. He looked up your part number for model OK21HXO on his old microfilm machine and he came up with part number:

5300162224......be careful, because there is also a 2222 and a 2225....I don't know the differences. I asked him repeatedly if that was the correct number and he said yes. PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND CONFIRM THIS FOR YOURSELF.

A google search for the part number came up with about four pages of links. I think that is a Robert Shaw part. Here's 2 that might pan out:

One other hit came up at $290....ouch.

Hey thanks, I appreciate it. That number came from an appliance repair forum. I'll go back to the guy and see what he says..

Don't forget to try ebay with the part numbers. It is amazing what people find and resell. I bought a $150 Carrier furnace part for $35, and a $300 electronic GE oven control for $10. Both were original new parts, sealed in packages, and were free shipping and no tax as well.

Good tip, thanks. Nothing on ebay, but I found a link to a supplier there and was able to cross reference the P/N to an actual picture so I know I'm getting the right part.

I've located 2 used parts and a NOS part.

Many thanks to all who responded,

BITOG comes through again...

OLdmoparguy,

I googled the Westinghouse equivalent part number Q162224 and came up with a Uniline/Robertshaw part number 5450-224. This seems to be a universal thermostat that is an "exact replacement" according to this site:

http://www.uni-line.com/Product.aspx?singlePart=false&prodID=66899 Click on the cross reference link for more part numbers to explore

Similar to cross referencing oil filters, I would confirm that the 5450-224 is correct.
But, this seems to be a newer number that you might have better luck finding. Google 5450-224 for more fun.

Which lead me to more parts: one on e-bay

How about Ebay for just about anything (just listen to Weird Al's pardoy song "Ebay")? I got tired of our cheap $8 phone (gave it away) and searched for a push button phone style similar to the one shown on opening credits of The Rockford Files. Found a few used, then a few new still being made. The seller that offered free shipping and a better price got my $34.:) Sorry for the
