2000 Saturn LS2 3.0L V6 - Amsoil 5W30 - 7006 miles

Hi guys - My first post and I'm putting up my results for the above mentioned car. Daily driver mostly driven by my wife. Details;

*2000 Saturn LS2 (aka L300) 3.0L V6
*118,700 miles on motor, 7006 miles on this oil change
*AMSOIL 5W30
*FRAM filter - It's a cartridge type
*FRAM Air filter - over 50k miles on it

I'm happy to see the engine is running great.

I see you're now running the XL 10W-30, was this run with XL 5W-30 oil, or was it the ASL 5W-30?

Pretty hard to beat.

The report is with ASL 5W30. Keep in mind also that the time frame for this oil use was right through winter, and we had quite a few cold spells and lots of snow this past season. I'm in Port Colborne ON Canada which is just 20 mins west of Buffalo NY.

I was actually a little disappointed with the TBN. I was hoping it would be a little higher given the type of oil and how much miles were on it.

Actually given the conditions, miles on the engine and this engine, a TBN of 3.4 from Blackstone is fairly respectable.

Big factor: What oil was used before this run?

I believe it was M1 5W30.

I'll be going to 7000 miles again, except this time I"m using the XL 10W30, and I"m also using a Genuine GM oil filter (Made in Germany). We'll see how that holds out.
