hey guys, i bought a 98 civic with 165k, used dino 5-30 for the first few oil changes, would it be ok to now go with a synthetic or a hi mileage oil from here on out? the car is leaking no oil or burning any from what i can tell so far.(keep ur fingers crossed) have read around and some people are saying if your car has hi miles just stick to the dino, please help me out, thanks !

Just run normal oil and change it depending on use and you'll be fine.

Save the $$.

I would not run HM oils if there is no need...

Others would because you have more than 75,001 miles.

we converted our 94 integra to M1 and then to PP 5w-30 at about 140k. Didnt use a drop, and gave great UOAs at ~7500mi intervals until we sold it...

I have a 98 Accord 2.3L and I am currently running synthetic 0W-20 and is consuming around 1qt. every 2k and I am getting 34mpg. The car is orginally spec'd for 5W-30 and 31mpg. Next year I will probably switch to a heavier oil to hopefully slow consumption though.
