Is there any way to interpret the lanel on the bottle if it only says exceed A5 classification ? How to know which year they are referenced to ?

I have few questions:
1. Is the A5-04 supposed to be better than A5 ?
2. Which oil in the market meets A5-04 / A5-07 ?

Thanks

Mobil-1's truck ans SUV meet's A1,B1,A5,B5-04

Anyone can answer this ?
If the label only shows meets ACEA A1, does it refer to A1-2002 or A1-2007 ?

So far I never see any oil with A5-07 label, but some are labelled with A5 and A5-04, A5-02, A5-98.

Today I check Mobil website, they remove all the A5/B5-04 specification from their 10w-30 and 10w-30 EP.

Does that means they now follow the latest ACEA classification for the oil ?

Likely, the *performance* parameters of the test remain unchanged, but other aspects of the composition, like sulphated ash and organo-metallics are limited. Perhaps this is somewhat in-step with API SM. I'm pretty comfortable with my A5/SL Saab Synth 0w-30. Looking for current otc A5 oil, I'd suspect Mobil 1 0w-30, even SM-spec, is about the best example you can find..even if it does not carry the spec....lol.
