There is information on the internet to the effect that Windows Vista will be released to business customers November 30th and to everybody January 30th of next year.

Personally, from what I have been able to find out, I don't think they should be releasing Vista at this time. I think it probably needs more time.

Vista Service Pack 1 will go where no other NT service pack has gone before: a new kernel. I'm sure THAT will be fun.

Works for Linux. I'm no Windoze fanboy, but where's the problem?

The problem is that it's never happened in the Windows world before. Driver incompatiblities and 3rd party software is not going to be willing to jump on the pre-SP1 Vista bandwagon if those vendors have to make substantial changes to their software with every service pack that Microsoft delivers.

I just downloaded the 2.5GB DVD image of Vista today from our MSDN subscription at work. Haven't installed it yet.
