everybody seems to be praising the hastings filter and until today i didnt know there was any other type of filter other than fram, haha. Since i am building up a high power street engine that I want to run well till i die i wanted to look into oil and stuff but I dont know where to find all this stuff. help please!!

Just go to their hastingsfilter web site which has a distributor search function. You can also do a search for Hastings Filters and find dealers that sell on-line.
I think that Hastings/Baldwin filters are very good, but probably not superior to Mobil 1 filters (but cheaper), nor superior to Purolator Pure One filters.

Just try some of your local auto parts places (not Autozone, Pepboys, or Advance)
Like was mentioned (I have cut one open) no better than K&N, Mobil 1 or even Supertech. I wouldn't knock myself out getting one.
