There is also a problem with Ford transfer cases with AWD. The clutches do not work properly with MerconV and Mercon must be used. When Ford quit making mercon they began selling a "transfer case fluid" whick seems to be plain old mercon.
Just giving this info so people don't start think MerconV can be used ANYWHERE mercon is called for. I will keep using mercon in my Ford PS units.
