I recently did an Aristo 2JZ-GTE VVT-i engine swap in my IS300. I have been trying to search for some sort of Toyota owners manual to see what the recommended oil for an Aristo but I can't seem to find much.
A little info about the engine fore those who don't know. The engine is from a 1999-2005 Japanese Toyota Aristo, which is similar to the twin turbo Supra engine, but utilizes variable valve timing. I know the Supra specifies API SH 10W-30, but that is for a non-VVT-i engine. The non-turbo version which came in the IS300 (2JZ-GE with VVT-i) is a similar engine and calls for API SL ILSAC 5W-30.
1. What kind of vehicle you have2004 Lexus IS300 with a 2JZ-GTE VVT-i Aristo swapped engine
2. What your owner's manual says -- not just viscosity, but certifications (look for acronyms like API SM, ILSAC GF-4, etc.) and change intervals as well Any info on this would be awesome.
3. Where you live Central Florida
4. How you drive (easy? hard? fast? slow?) All four
5. What your daily drive is like (short trips? long trips? city? highway?) Short trips and highway
6. Whether your car has any known problems None.
Thanks!
