What Metal to use?

In this picture, I'm trying to figure out what metal to buy to mount the planes to the stand. It needs to be bendable, and retain it's shape, yet hold it's shape once curved. Each of the models is very light, a few ounces at best. What/where to buy? If you have a link that would be great! (fyi, I already have the planes built, just need to do the stand)

You could use stainless strips, these are 1" wide but you could get 1/2"

Alumimum strips would be easy to bend around a form. Part no. 9447T31 at McMaster Carr is 1/4 inch wide by 1/16 inch thick. A 6 foot long piece is about $7.50.

Alum. bends too easy for that use.
