Computers can be obsolete by the time you walk out of the store from buying them.

Obviously that is a stretch to be humorous but not that much of one.

Also, a book can be totally destroyed and replaced for small $$$. Not so a computer. Books don't get infected with viruses or have mechanical breakdowns either.
