VW recalls 71,000 2011 Jettas

I agree that VW did the right thing. They realized there was a flaw in their product, and corrected it as it should be, rather than waiting for someone else to make a big deal out of it.
 
I'm not suprised. The few 2011s I've worked with do seem to have a LOT of multiplexed wires. I'm just suprised it didn't get caught before production. Seems like something they would test. Or maybe at least would have found when the dealer was taking delivery and they sounded the horn before backing.

It may not happen all the time, so if they missed it in testing or something, it may have taken a while for the issue to be noticed after production.
 
You gotta admit though, it's a strangely funny recall. Not your typical faulty Chrysler minivan latch, LOL.
 
Who would have guessed VWs having electrical problems? Will they ever escape their electrical gremlins?
