Hi folks, New UOA on my watercooled 911 997 3.8 Porsche year 2005 Valvoline Synpower 5W-40: 4700 miles and 5 months of winter storage without starting the engine at all. Oil filter: Royal Purple 10-2835 and LN engineering spin-on oil filter adapter and Low.temp. thermostat. Heavy track day use and German Autobahn cruising Total miles on the engine: 119000 miles Unopened engine Sample date: 24/10 2023 Last result in the left column

Low wear metals, and i have used Valvoline Synpower 5W-40 the last 8 years with consistent readings.

Interesting that this lab uses D2896 for TBN. That test is only supposed to be used for virgin samples. D4739 method should be used with used samples according to ASTM.

Good catch. OP should ask about that for sure. It appears fairly high for the mileage of 8.64 so it does sound "Off".
